Enhancing Your Immunity: A Chiropractor’s Perspective
Hello everyone! I’m Dr. Brant Hulsebus, a chiropractor from Rockford, Illinois. I love to share useful tips about boosting your immunity, and even though some topics are tricky to discuss, I’ll do my best. Let’s discuss enhancing your immunity
Vitamin D3
Let’s start with vitamins. Vitamin D3 is essential for us. You can get it from the sun or take it with some healthy fat, like fish oil. Remember, it’s more effective to use gel caps instead of hard pills. During colder months, we run out of stored vitamin D3, so it’s helpful to supplement it, especially when we can’t soak up the sun.
Vitamin C
Next up is Vitamin C. Lots of people think drinking orange juice is enough, but that’s not quite right. Vitamin C in juice oxidizes fast, and juices don’t have fiber, which helps our body absorb vitamins better. Instead, try colorful vegetables and fruits, like red bell peppers. They are packed with vitamin C and fiber.
While chiropractic adjustments might have benefits for stress and well-being, I’m not allowed to say directly that they boost immunity. But I can tell you that when we’re less stressed, our body functions better.
Sleep
Good sleep is also vital, as it helps our bodies run smoothly. If you get a mild fever, it’s better not to lower it too quickly because fevers help fight germs.
In colder months, don’t just stay inside. Keep moving, walk outside, or exercise at the gym. This keeps your body active and strong.
