Evolving with the Times: A Holistic Chiropractic Approach

What is Holistic Chiropractic?  Welcome to another edition of “Ask the Chiropractor” with Dr. Brant Hulsebus, a chiropractor based in Rockford, Illinois, and the team chiropractor for the Rockford Ice Hogs. In this blog post, we dive into the intriguing world of chiropractic care and how it has evolved over generations.

Generational Wisdom

Dr. Hulsebus shares an interesting family history—he’s a third-generation chiropractor! His grandfather started practicing in 1949, followed by his father in 1975. Even after 20 years, Dr. Hulsebus still sees some of his grandfather’s patients. Interestingly, he often hears people say his grandfather got them better faster. But why is this the case?

Learning and Equipment Changes

Back in his grandfather’s day, chiropractic school was only 18 months long. Today, there are more things to learn, like DNA and MRIs, which weren’t around back then. Although Dr. Hulsebus has advanced equipment and broader education, he wonders if today’s patients are more health-challenged due to modern lifestyles.

A Holistic Approach

To address today’s challenges, Dr. Hulsebus earned a special certification called CCWP (Certified Chiropractic Wellness Practitioner). This program focuses on a holistic lifestyle, encouraging people to eat better, move more, and think positively. By combining these tips with chiropractic care, the goal is to improve overall health.

Community Involvement

Dr. Hulsebus invites his Rockford community to join holistic nights, where he discusses these wellness practices. These events are educational, aiming to offer alternative views on health issues.

Final Thoughts

Chiropractic care is not just about adjustments; it’s also about adopting a healthier lifestyle. Dr. Hulsebus is passionate about helping his patients achieve better health and offers guidance on various wellness practices. If you have questions, he’s eager to help and ready to find answers.
